Alder trees grow in abundance on the West Coast, and are one of the first trees to sprout up after logging or forest fires. The alder cones are quite dainty: measuring in an oval shape around 2 cms long by 1.25 cms wide. These cones are quite difficult to cast due to the fine edges; however, once in a while I get a perfect cast, and this cone happens to be one of them! This cone is sold on an 18″ sterling silver chain. You will be thrilled with this lovely little gem!
